The SEEDS–BioFairNet Annual Conference 2026 will open on 2 December with a preconference afternoon dedicated to focused exchanges and early engagement among participants. Before the main sessions begin, this first day offers an opportunity to explore specific research areas, refine ongoing work, and connect with colleagues working across the socioeconomic and technological dimensions of circularity and the bioeconomy transition.
The Horizon Europe project BioFairNet and the SEEDS interuniversity research network announce its firstAnnual Conference, taking place on 2 - 4 December 2026 at the University of Ferrara (Italy). The conference will explore how Circular Economy and Bioeconomy approaches can contribute to tackling climate change and supporting the EU’s transition toward more sustainable and resilient systems.
BioFairNet took part in the BioInvestIT Roadshow held on 11 March 2026 at UnitelmaSapienza in Rome, an initiative designed to connect circular bioeconomy innovation with investors, startups, and key ecosystem actors. The Roadshow’s Rome stop was organised in collaboration with the Department of Legal and Economic Sciences (DSGE) and formed part of a broader morning dedicated to circular bioeconomy and local value chains.
The BIOFAIRNET consortium gathered in Greece from 20 to 23 January 2026 for its General Assembly and Executive Board meetings, bringing partners together for an intensive week of technical discussions, strategic coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Held between Athens and Lesvos, the meetings marked an important milestone to reflect on progress achieved during the first year of the project and to align partners on the next phase of implementation.
BioFairNet hosted its Regional Stakeholder Workshop Focused on Mining sector in Germany on 24 February 2026, bringing together different key  actors for an online discussion on how to build a more connected, open, and practical digital ecosystem for the circular and bioeconomy. The session offered a clear picture of the sector’s needs while generating concrete guidance for the development of the project’s upcoming digital dashboard.
On 6 March 2026, BioFairNet hosted its online Spanish Regional Stakeholder Workshop for the mining sector. The event opened with a presentation by Miguel Ángel López, R&D and Innovation Manager at SATEC, who introduced the BioFairNet project and welcomed participants into a space designed for open discussion and shared reflection.

Over 37 participants joined the discussion, contributing insights that will guide the development of the BioFairNet digital platform.
