The Full Experience

Three days in Ferrara.
One conference.
Three events.

The conference is just part of the experience.
Here is everything happening in Ferrara from 2 to 4 December.

2 December | 1PM – 5PM

Pre-Conference Workshops

Two simultaneous workshops open the event on 2 December, each designed for a distinct audience.

Workshop 1

Early and Emerging Researchers

For PhD candidates, postdocs, and early-career academics. Present ongoing research on sustainability, circular economy, and environmental policy in a supportive environment with feedback from peers and senior scholars.

Workshop 2

Engineering Design and AI in Circular Economy

For researchers and practitioners at the intersection of AI, engineering design, and circular production. Topics include digital twins, generative design, and AI for resource efficiency. Led by Dr. Tobias Rosnitschek, University of Bayreuth.

Free of charge. Separate registration required for each workshop.

2 December | 6:30PM – 8:30PM

Networking Aperitif: Where Ideas Meet Impact

After the workshops, join the BioFairNet community for an informal gathering designed to spark new collaborations. Connect with researchers, practitioners, industry partners, policymakers, and civil society actors in a relaxed setting.

Bring your roll-ups, flyers, or project materials to showcase your work. The event is open to external attendees beyond SEEDS conference participants.

Free of charge. Registration required. Places are limited.

3-4 December | Main Conference

Two Full Days of Scientific Exchange

Two days of presentations, scientific discussions, and exchanges on circular economy, bioeconomy, and climate mitigation. Lunches and coffee breaks provided to confirmed participants.

Free of charge. Separate registration required.

Ferrara in December is worth the trip.

The bioeconomy and circular economy transitions do not happen in isolation. They happen when researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers sit in the same room, hear the same results, and ask each other hard questions.

That is what this conference is for.
If your work belongs in this conversation, 25 June is the date that matters.

The Biofairnet project will take part in Bioeconomy Day 2026 through a dedicated online workshop organised by project partner UNITELMA Sapienza. The webinar, “Assessing sustainability in emerging bio-based value chains,” will explore how Environmental and Social Life Cycle Assessment (LCA and S-LCA) methodologies can be applied to evaluate the sustainability of innovative bio-based systems.
The Biofairnet project was present at the 9th Environmental Conference of Macedonia (EcoMacedonia 2025). Project partner CERTH (Centre for Research and Technology Hellas) represented the project and contributed to the scientific programme through a poster presentation delivered by researcher Lefteris Melas. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and environmental experts to discuss pressing challenges and innovative solutions in sustainability and environmental management.
