BioFairNet will be present at the upcoming “Renaissance in Economics” International Conference, taking place in Rome on 14–15 May 2026. The event brings together leading economists, researchers, and policymakers to reflect on how economic thinking can respond to today’s global challenges, from climate transition to social inequalities.
Bringing BioFairNet into the Debate
BioFairNet will be represented by Marina Albanese, Project Coordinator and Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Napoli Federico II (UNINA), one of the project partners. She will participate in the semi-plenary round table “Economics and Management in Dialogue: Building a Common Agenda for Societal Impact and Sustainable Competitiveness,” engaging with experts from across disciplines to explore how economic and management perspectives can converge to address societal challenges.
Linking BioFairNet to Current Economic Challenges
The conference will address the pressing need to rethink economic models in a context marked by climate pressures, social fragmentation, and rapid systemic change.
Within this debate, BioFairNet brings a concrete contribution focused on how value is created and distributed in bio-based systems, highlighting the importance of fairness, transparency, and sustainability in shaping future bioeconomy pathways.
Driving Dialogue Beyond the Project
By engaging in this high-level exchange, BioFairNet will strengthen its connection with the broader academic and policy community while positioning its work within ongoing discussions on economic transformation.
The project’s participation reflects a growing recognition that advancing sustainability requires not only technological solutions, but also new economic approaches capable of integrating social and environmental value into production systems.
