The SUSTRACK final event, “Projects2Projects: showcasing key results, inspiring new opportunities”, brought together the European bioeconomy community on 28 October 2025 for an online session coorganised with the European Bioeconomy Network (EuBioNet). The event gathered more than 70 participants and marked a key moment to reflect on SUSTRACK’s achievements and to strengthen collaboration among Horizon Europe projects working on standardisation, certification, labelling, and monitoring in the bioeconomy.
On Thursday, 25 September, and Friday, 26 September, on-site meetings took place in Naples as part of the BioFairNet project. Project partners from Satec from Spain and the University of Bayreuth from Germany travelled to Naples for this important and intensive exchange – other project partners joined digitally as needed. The presence of various professions, coupled with a pleasant and personal atmosphere, led to intensive conversations and productive discussions that addressed open questions and brought urgently needed answers to light.
The BIOFAIRNET project, represented by Unitelma Sapienza University of Rome, will take part in the final event of the SUSTRACK project titled “Projects2Projects: Showcasing Key Results, Inspiring New Opportunities”, to be held online on 28 October 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.
With around 190 participants, this year's K-Day at the University of Bayreuth was a great success. On the 17th of September 2025, the Chair of Engineering Design and CAD at the University of Bayreuth once again welcomed numerous guests from industry, research and academia.
As part of its 80th Anniversary celebrations, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) convened the Global Agrifood Biotechnologies Conference at its headquarters in Rome, Italy, from 16 to 18 June 2025. The event, held under the theme “Biotechnologies for a Sustainable Future: Driving Agrifood Systems Transformation,”brought together international experts, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to explore the pivotal role of biotechnologies in shaping more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient agrifood systems.
BIOFAIRNET partner UNIFE participated in the ICA CCR Global Research Conference—Intercooperation for our common futures—held at HEC Montréal, Canada, 8–11 July 2025. Marking the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives, the 5th global edition spotlighted how collaboration across research, practice, and policy can drive justice, sustainability, and shared prosperity.
The workshop “Energy recovery from waste” was held by BIOFAIRNET project partner University of the Aegean under the framework of the 19th International Conference on Environmental Science & Technology (CEST) - a leading forum established in 1989 where top experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, and public-sector representatives present state-of-the-art research on current and emerging environmental challenges.
On Thursday, 4 September 2025, BioFairNet took the stage at the International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST 2025), hosting the workshop Energy Recovery from Waste in Room Panacea at 11:30 a.m. As one of Europe’s leading environmental science forums, CEST provides a unique platform where researchers, innovators, and policy actors converge to exchange solutions for a more sustainable future. BioFairNet’s contribution to this year’s programme highlighted how waste valorisation can become a cornerstone of the green and just transition.
