BIOFAIRNET Engages Greek Agricultural Stakeholders in Lesvos

The first BIOFAIRNET Stakeholder Workshop in Greece marked an important milestone for the project’s engagement with the agricultural sector. Held in Lesvos, the workshop brought together Greek agricultural actors to exchange knowledge, share practical experience, and collectively explore pathways toward a more circular and bio-based economy.

The session provided a dedicated space for open dialogue on current practices, challenges, and needs related to circularity in agriculture. Farmers, practitioners, and local stakeholders discussed regional realities, regulatory considerations, and opportunities to better valorise agricultural resources while reducing environmental impacts.

A key focus of the workshop was the co-design of the future BIOFAIRNET digital dashboard. Through interactive discussions, participants helped identify priority functionalities, region-specific indicators, and enabling factors that would support real-world adoption. This hands-on approach ensured that stakeholder perspectives are embedded directly into the design of the project’s digital tools, reinforcing BIOFAIRNET’s commitment to inclusiveness and usability.

The interactive format encouraged peer learning and mutual understanding, allowing participants to learn from each other’s experiences while shaping solutions tailored to the Greek agricultural context. Insights gathered during the workshop will directly inform the next stages of platform development and pilot validation.

This first stakeholder workshop in Greece represents a significant step forward for BIOFAIRNET, strengthening its connection with local agricultural communities and grounding the project in regional needs. The outcomes from Lesvos will contribute to developing practical, scalable, and regionally relevant solutions, supporting a fair transition toward a circular and bioeconomy-driven agricultural sector across Europe and beyond.
