Biofairnet - Input on Sustainability

What we’re asking: Your perception of challenges and needs to implement environmental sustainability (specifically circular economy and bioeconomy approaches) in agriculture or mining.

The questionnaire is anonymous and stored securely in the project’s internal drive in line with GDPR. Data are used only in aggregated, anonymised form for research and reporting within BioFairNet.


Biofairnet - Executive Board Meeting

BIOFAIRNET EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

On 17 July 2025, the leaders of all Work Packages in the BIOFAIRNET project gathered online for an Executive Board Meeting. This key internal coordination event aimed to:

  • Monitor the effective and efficient implementation of the project;
  • Review progress and ensure alignment with the Consortium Plan.

The meeting was structured into two sessions:

  • MORNING SESSION: PROJECT MANAGEMENT TOOLS
  • AFTERNOON SESSION: PROGRESS REVIEW BY WORK PACKAGE

Biofairnet - Ecomondo 2026

ECOMONDO 2025

The BIOFAIRNET project participated in the 2026 edition of ECOMONDO, held from 3 to 6 November at the Rimini Expo Centre in Italy. Recognised as Europe’s leading event for the green and circular economy, ECOMONDO once again gathered thousands of professionals, industrial leaders, policymakers, and researchers to shape the future of the ecological transition.


Biofairnet - K-Day at the University of Bayreuth

26TH BAYREUTHER 3D-KONSTRUKTEURSTAG 2025

On the 17th of September 2025, the Chair of Engineering Design and CAD at the University of Bayreuth once again welcomed numerous guests from industry, research and academia.

Talks, live demonstrations and discussions once again highlighted the diversity of current developments in design, simulation and manufacturing.

On 24 July 2026, the BioFairNet Executive Board met online to review progress across the project and coordinate upcoming activities. The meeting brought together representatives from the consortium to exchange updates on ongoing work, assess achievements and discuss the next milestones supporting BioFairNet’s mission to advance a fair and circular bioeconomy.
From 14 to 17 July 2026, BioFairNet partners gathered in Speinshart, Germany, for a dedicated modelling retreat focused on one of the project's key outcomes: the Green Information Factory. The event brought together technical experts, researchers and communication specialists to advance the development of a digital platform designed to support a fair and circular bioeconomy transition. 
The latest episode of ScienceMe features Stergios Vakalis, Assistant Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the University of the Aegean. During the episode, he discusses the role of energy and environmental technologies in addressing current sustainability challenges and highlights BioFairNet’s work on hydrothermal carbonisation.
