On 24 July 2026, the BioFairNet Executive Board met online to review progress across the project and coordinate upcoming activities. The meeting brought together representatives from the consortium to exchange updates on ongoing work, assess achievements and discuss the next milestones supporting BioFairNet’s mission to advance a fair and circular bioeconomy.
Progress across work packages
Work Package leaders shared updates on activities across the project, highlighting advances in sustainability assessments, pilot implementation and the continued development of the Green Information Factory (GIF). Together, these activities contribute to the development of innovative tools, methodologies and solutions that support the transition towards more sustainable and circular value chains.
The Executive Board also reviewed progress related to BioFairNet’s multidimensional sustainability framework, including environmental, economic and social assessment activities that will help evaluate the impacts and opportunities associated with project value chains.
Advancing project outputs
Updates from the pilot regions highlighted ongoing efforts to develop and validate innovative bioeconomy solutions adapted to local contexts. Work is also progressing on the generation of data, knowledge and evidence that will contribute to future project outputs, sustainability assessments and decision-support tools.
The session also reviewed progress in stakeholder-related activities, including the identification of key stakeholder groups and upcoming validation exercises. As a core pillar of BioFairNet, stakeholder engagement helps ensure that project outputs are informed by real needs, experiences and regional perspectives.
Collaboration towards the next milestones
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives, review achievements and align priorities across the consortium. Discussions reinforced the close links between pilot activities, sustainability assessments, digital innovation and stakeholder-oriented solutions being developed throughout the project.
By bringing together expertise from different disciplines and regions, BioFairNet continues to build the knowledge, tools and evidence needed to support Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and circular bioeconomy.
