Mining provides essential raw materials for many industries, yet it is also one of the sectors with the highest environmental and social impacts. Transitioning towards sustainable mining means addressing emissions, water and land use, and community well-being—while also ensuring economic viability.
👉 In your view, what should be the top priority for making mining more sustainable: reducing environmental impacts, improving social responsibility, or accelerating innovation in technology and processes? -

I believe the top priority should be reducing environmental impacts, because this is where mining often faces the strongest criticism and creates the most long-term risks. Issues like land degradation, water contamination, and emissions directly affect both ecosystems and local communities.
That said, social responsibility and innovation shouldn’t be seen as separate—when companies invest in cleaner technologies and engage transparently with stakeholders, they not only protect the environment but also build trust and resilience across the value chain.
