A greener economy is not automatically a fairer one. As regions move away from carbon-intensive agriculture and mining, the bio-based value chains that replace them raise a simple question: who carries the costs, and who shares the benefits?
This BioFairNet Transferability Webinar, organised by the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA), opens a conversation on what a fair bioeconomy means in practice and what it takes to build one. The discussion is organised around three themes:
- Sustainability: how a bioeconomy can reduce environmental pressure without shifting costs onto regions, workers or communities.
- Inclusion: who takes part in the transition and who benefits from it, from farmers and cooperatives to workers in mining and agricultural regions and the communities around them.
- Innovation: how new technologies, data and business models can make a fair transition easier to replicate in other territories.
Date and time:
Thu, 12 Nov 2026 10:00 – 12:00 (CEST)
A moderated discussion and audience Q&A will then connect the three themes.
Who should attend?
Researchers, regional and policy actors, industry, cooperatives and civil society organisations working on bioeconomy, circular economy and just transition.
Participation is free of charge. The webinar will be held in English.
We look forward to having you attend the event!
