Biofairnet - Webinar Assessing Sustainability in Emerging Bio-based Value Chains

Biofairnet Contributes to Bioeconomy Day 2026 with a Transferability Webinar

The Biofairnet project will take part in Bioeconomy Day 2026 through a dedicated online workshop organised by project partner UNITELMA Sapienza. The webinar, “Assessing sustainability in emerging bio-based value chains,” will explore how Environmental and Social Life Cycle Assessment (LCA and S-LCA) methodologies can be applied to evaluate the sustainability of innovative bio-based systems.

The session will highlight how life cycle approaches support better decision-making by identifying environmental and social impacts, trade-offs, and opportunities for improvement across value chains and regional contexts. Drawing on practical insights from the Biofairnet project, participants will be introduced to real applications in:

  • Biomass valorisation
  • Circular use of resources
  • Development of responsible and sustainable supply chains

This interactive workshop aims to engage a broad audience, including researchers, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and all those interested in advancing sustainable bioeconomy solutions.

📅 Date: 28 May 2026
